2022 Syrah Nolan Vineyard
Nolan Ranch is one of the newest, largest and we think best wine growing properties in the Alisos Canyon AVA. First planted in 2018, Nolan was adopted immediately by top wineries in search of great grapes. (It helped, no doubt, that the terroir in this “Syrah corridor” had already been proven by neighboring vineyards like Thompson, Martian Ranch and Flower and Vine). The site is hilly, offering a variety of exposures for the 18 varieties planted here. The weather is ideal for a range of grapes, but especially Syrah, which needs sunny warm days to coax out true ripeness in the fruit and extremely cool nights to keep things fresh. Our 2022 Syrah is absolutely delicious – juicy, bright and light on its feet but also serious, with character and complexity to spare.
